This is a little shameless self-promotion, but I need some money. Anyway, it's a social commentary piece on voting. It also has an abridged explanation of the Electoral College for those who might not know the deal with that.

I agree with the point about the Berlin Wall. The deterioration of the Soviet economy and the stranglehold on the Eastern block economies had more to do with the wall turning into tourist dust than the Reagan speech.
I was in Budapest several times before the wall came down. Even the most non-politicized among my friends seemed to know what lay ahead.
Hmm. I am not sure quite what to make of it. He is saying people that need to vote, which they do, because if you dont vote, you dont really have a right to bitch about who gets in office, when you didnt try and oppose it. On the other hand though, he constantly criticizes the goverment for its use in an electoral college setting it seems, or just the goverment and media in general. It seems odd that he is attacking the very thing that lets him get his message across to people.
His point that people need to vote more is true. However, he goes about it in a rather long winded and almost hypocritical attacking way.
Colt,
Could you copy and paste a the passages that are bashing the Electoral College? I ask only because my intention wasn't to bash the Electoral College when writing this, but simply to explain how it works. So it would be greatly appreciated if you post the passages where it appears that I'm bashing the Electoral College.
